Hi, I’m Eddy — the creative mind behind Jolly Orca Studios.
What started with a simple camera has grown into a dedicated studio focused on capturing people at their best. I specialize in professional headshots and event photography, helping individuals, teams, and organizations look polished, confident, and authentic.

Why Orcas?

Why Orcas?

Because orcas rock! I’ve been fascinated with orcas and sea life since I was a kid. My first dream was to work at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and that love for the ocean never left. Naming my studio after them is my way of tying together art, science, and a sense of wonder and paying homage to my favorite animal. Also, kids love the name!

You’re inspired, I can tell.

My Background

Before photography became my main focus, I studied Biology and Electrical Engineering — fields that taught me precision, design, and how to notice the small details most people overlook. But my path into professional photography began in a totally unexpected way.

Back in college, I was asked to take photos for building badges in the campus laboratory. It was supposed to be a simple task, but I found myself loving the process of helping people look their best, even in a straightforward ID photo. Word spread, and before long, I was asked to photograph campus events, debates, public speakers, and eventually professional headshots for students and faculty staff updating their LinkedIn profiles and résumés.

What started as a favor in a lab slowly grew into something real — a craft, a passion, and eventually the beginnings of Jolly Orca Studios.

My Approach

At Jolly Orca Studios, I want every client to feel comfortable and confident. Whether you need:

  • A city hall meeting documented
  • A school debate or campus event covered
  • A clean, professional headshot for LinkedIn, your ID badge, or your portfolio

I’ll work with you to make sure the final photos reflect your personality, your story, and your goals.

Thanks for visiting — I hope Jolly Orca Studios can help bring your story, your imagination, and your ideas into the real world.
